The Cheese Society is a family-owned and run artisan cheese retailer, located in the heart of Lincoln. Established in 1997, the business specialises in a wide-ranging selection of artisan cheeses from Lincolnshire, across Britain, and from the Continent, with a strong emphasis on heritage, provenance, and traditional craftsmanship.

Cheeses and specialist provisions are available both in the Lincoln-based shop and through the company’s online shop. From their premises, the team hand-cut and hand-wrap cheeses and dispatches orders nationwide each week via next-day courier, ensuring quality and freshness for customers across the UK.

With a long-standing team of highly knowledgeable cheesemongers, The Cheese Society has built a strong reputation as a trusted and respected name in artisan cheese retail. Popular offerings include their monthly cheese club, which features four carefully selected seasonal and lesser-known cheeses, delivered on dates chosen by the customer. The business also offers an extensive range of local and unusual provisions, curated gift boxes, and a build-your-own cheese box service.

The Lincoln shop also operates as a bakery and deli, specialising in freshly made sourdough, pastries, coffee, bakes, and cakes. Open Wednesday to Saturday, the deli counter remains entirely cheese-focused — making The Cheese Society a must-visit destination for anyone who loves cheese.
