The Whole Person, The Whole Point...
Rugby School is the UK’s leading co-educational true, full-boarding school of choice. We believe in the transformative power of boarding education. We are a 7 days-a-week school in the heart of England, with more than 200 years of House experience and a strong boarding ethos.
Rugby, probably more than any other school in the land, focuses on helping our students become ‘whole’ people – people who are multi-faceted in their interests, talents and ambitions.
We recognise that the three strands of academic, co-curricular and pastoral are inherently and inextricably linked. It is the successful combining of these three strands which is at the heart of our “Whole Person Whole Point” ethos.
Academic results are outstanding. In 2022, 83% of grades at both GCSE and A level were A*-A, while 93 Rugbeians achieved places at one of the top ten ranking universities in the UK, and other students going on to prestigious universities abroad.
Our renowned co-curricular programme offers more than 200 options and more than 28 sports with emphasis on both excellence and participation. In 2023, our Rugby 7s team triumphed at Rosslyn Park, the UK’s top schools’ 7s tournament, along with other regional and national competition success.
A true boarding school, we are a 24/7 community with resident staff in each of our 13 boarding Houses. All meals are enjoyed together in each House with every student assigned a personal tutor for unrivalled pastoral care and support.
For our main entry points, 13+ and 16+, parents are warmly invited to visit the School, whether midweek or on one of our many Saturday open days. Visits typically include a School tour, a House tour and lunch with current students and staff.
We are just 48 minutes by train from London and a 40 minute drive from Birmingham Airport
